There is one point you guys forgot to mention regarding the J&S. Most of you will tune your car to the absolute threshold (just before detoantion occurs) in order to obtain maximum horsepower and maintain reliability and longevity. However, if you tune your motor on pump gas it is possible to get a bad tank of gas. Even when you pump 92 octane (or whatever premium fuel is in your area) sometimes 92 octane doesn't come out. Sometimes you'll have fuel with lower octane. With this "tune" you will now be detonating due to the fact you tuned with a higher octane in the tank. A J&S knock sensor can hear the detonation and remove timing when necessary.
Just food for thought. I just look at the J&S a nice little insurance policy. The $500 J&S is a lot cheaper than a new motor or a rebuild.

There are a whole lot of factors that can throw things out of tune, and high boost with high compression demands more precise tuning to be safe. Variations between tanks of gas is only one of them.

Don't waste unnessacery money on bottom end upgrades for 10psi...
And for that matter, don't waste money on elaborate timing retard systems either...
Do invest in boost referenced fuel enrichment, and tune your combination on a dyno...
And then all you have to do is keep your ears open

J&S has better hearing.

Granted J&S does have better hearing (sometimes to good)...
If you tune your combination on the safe side, detonation at 10 psi shouldn't be a factor...
Were getting off topic though, weren't we discussing weather or not the stock rotating assy could withstand 10psi. boost pressure?...
